Our Mission
We feed the kids of Allegan County affected by food insecurity and hunger.
We partner with schools year around to sustain food that fills the weekend food gap.
We ensure the confidentiality of the students and families involved in our programs.
We embrace equity and diversity among those we serve.
We will continue to support and raise awareness for the needs of supplemental food programs in our local schools; Saugatuck/Douglas, Fennville, and the Allegan campus of Innocademy, and foster relationships with other schools to address hunger needs in Allegan county.
We are very proud that we have distributed more than 100,000 weekend backpack meals to the kids of Allegan County affected by food insecurity and hunger since our inception.
George Stoutin and Ron Collins created Children First Lakeshore (CFL) in 2017. CFL is a Douglas, Michigan based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to feeding children affected by food insecurity and hunger throughout Allegan County.
We’re committed to this mission through fundraising, building partnerships and relationships with organizations, schools and food programs.
